Summary of Collision Episode

Ali Larter, Hayden Panettiere and Masi Oka amongst others reprise their roles in Collision, episode four of Tim Kring's Heroes.

By episode four, at least three of the originally disparate narrative threads in Heroes have started to overlap, as some of the Heroes converge on Las Vegas. Hiro (Masi Oka) and Ando are drawn -- in every sense of the word -- by Isaac Mendez's comic-book drawings.

Thanks to Hiro's powers, they gamble and win, but a less suspicious man than the poker player would be suspicious, and they are robbed of their winnings and warned off in future.

Internet porn actress Niki (Ali Larter) is chauffeured from driving through the Nevada desert by a crooked Highway Patrolman to Las Vegas, where Linderman, the mob boss to whom she owes money wishes her to repay him in kind, by sleeping with a visiting Congressman. Micah tells her that he is worried about her; that a child should be so wise about what his mother does in the garage and so aware of the dangers is a moment of ringing truth in a program that's supposedly all about escapism.

Blackmail

It is of course Nathan who is visiting Las Vegas, and despite the mutual attraction, Nicki initially walks away. However, when she is assaulted by one of Linderman's goons, her dark twin emerges and beats the man to a pulp, before returning to seduce Nathan. She looks up at the camera that is filming them so Linderman can blackmail the married Congressman.

Nathan's suicidal folly is interesting given that he's tried to pay brother Peter off, and accused him of being an embarrassment. After their one night stand, Simone has asked Peter for more time to work out whether she wants him or Isaac. Peter has met with Mohinder and tells him of his powers, but they fail spectacularly to work.

Cheerleader Claire (Hayden Panettiere) escapes the morgue, and back at school meets with the quarterback who tried to rape her. She learns that she is not his only victim, and that he is perversely almost proud of what he's done. She asks if she can drive his car, and thinking that he's going to have sex, he agrees. Instead she puts her foot to the floor and drives the car into a brick wall at high speed.

Returning from their abortive visit to Isaac's studio, the subway carriage Peter is in suddenly goes dark, and all movement stops. Peter turns to see Hiro standing in front of him -- but this Hiro is subtly different, and having spoken only Japanese, this Hiro says in flawless English, "My name is Hiro...."
