Guide to episodes 11 - 22 of the 1989 sci-fi detective series Alien Nation, starring Gary Graham and Eric Pierpoint.

The second half of Alien Nation's first season continues to explore the relationship between humans and the alien Newcomers. Further differences in biology are revealed--the fact that Tenctonese males get pregnant--and the Purists, a violent, anti-Newcomer organization, grow even more dangerous.

Episode 11: Chains of Love

George goes undercover at a Newcomer dating service to catch a female serial killer. Human jealousies start to take hold, and George worries that Susan is cheating.

Episode 12: The Red Room

Originally Aired December 18, 1989

Matthew and George track down a Newcomer who was programmed to kill, which reminds George of his time in the quarantine camps.

Episode 13: Spirit of '95

Originally Aired January 15, 1990

Buck (Sean Six) and Susan (Michele Scarabelli) join the fight for Newcomer suffrage. Matthew (Gary Graham) and George (Eric Pierpoint) investigate a violent Purist plot against a pro-Newcomer candidate.

A mysterious Newcomer artifact has the power to kill those who don't understand it--and yet, everyone seems to want it.

Episode 15: Eyewitness News

Originally Aired February 5, 1990

Matthew and George investigate the death of a Tenctonese porn star. A news crew films a documentary about George, which intereferes with both his job and his family life.

Episode 16: Partners

Originally Aired February 12, 1990

When George and Matthew team up with Matthew's old mentor for a drug bust, George gets blamed for several kilos of missing drugs. George and Susan prepare for the transfer of the baby's pod to George.

Episode 17: Real Men

Originally Aired February 19, 1990

Bodybuilders may be using Tenctonese hormones as steroids, which has unexpected effects. Human stereotypes of masculinity are troublesome for George while he is pregnant.

Episode 18: Crossing the Line

Originally Aired February 26, 1990

Matthew must call off his vacation plans when a serial killer reappears. When Vessna gets sick, one of the Franciscos feels responsible.

Episode 19: Rebirth

Originally Aired March 12, 1990

Matthew has a near-death experience and believes that the leader of a Newcomer religious sect healed him. George coaches Emily's softball team.

Episode 20: Gimme, Gimme

Originally Aired April 9, 1990

George invests in a new fabric company, but when the creator turns up murdered he finds a lot of suspicious activity behind the scenes. Albert (Jeff Marcus) wins the lottery with a ticket he bought from Matthew, and hopes to see his dreams fulfilled.

Episode 21: The Touch

Originally Aired April 30, 1990

When Cathy (Terri Treas) is reunited with a boy she knew on the Newcomer ship, they begin to realize that something terrible has happened to him.

Episode 22: Green Eyes

Originally Aired May 7, 1990

George's promotion causes tensions with Matthew, and Matthew struggles with his attraction to Cathy. The Purists plan to attack Newcomers using biological terrorism.
